In order to ensure a sufficient amount of LED light in the CIS, the LED installation angle, the shape of the light guide that directs the LED light and many other aspects have been reserced and studied in detail, thus making it possible to use light sources in an ideal manner.

CIS consumes less than a tenth of the electricity used by CCD-based image reduction systems. This is an important environmental benefit, but also an advantage for USB bus-powered scanners that do not require an AC power source. Additionally, the scanning component is 1/10 - 1/20 the size of CCD based components.

Brightness is optimal, uniform and without loss of intensity. There are no discolorations and the depth of illumination reaches farther even the surface is partly lifted.
